The city of Longmont is looking for a new Emergency Management Director, who is responsible for developing, organizing, coordinating and supervising emergency management plans and programs, according to a city Facebook post.

The pay range for the EMD is $8,490 to $9,435 a month. The new hire will work in the city’s Department of Public Safety Division.

The post became vacant with the May resignation of former EMD Dan Eamon.

An interview process will be developed to find Eamon’s replacement, Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Robin Ericson. Members of the Longmont Public Safety command staff, community members and key leaders within the city will work to locate the best fit for the position, Ericson said.

“If the right candidate is found, we are hoping to have this individual in place by Jan. 1,” she said.
