A 30-year-old suspect who faces attempted murder charges after shooting at a moving vehicle Tuesday turned himself to Longmont Police Wednesday afternoon.
Marshall Aamodt turned himself in at the Longmont Safety and Justice Center at 3:28 p.m. He was booked and transported to the Boulder County Jail, said Jeff Satur, Deputy Chief of Police Services in an email.
Aamodt faces the following charges: attempted first degree murder extreme indifference, felony menacing, reckless endangerment and attempted illegal discharge of a firearm, according to a Longmont Police news release.
Police said officers on Tuesday at 7:26 a.m. received a call of two males fighting in the driveway of a home located in the 300 block of Mountain View Avenue.
During the altercation, Aamodt threatened to kill the victim with a knife. As the argument progressed, the victim entered a vehicle and fled. As the victim was driving away from the residence, Aamodt fired several pistol rounds at the moving vehicle, using the neighboring houses as a back-drop. No other parties were struck, according to the Tuesday news release.
Marshall fled the area and was possibly dropped off in the Denver area. A search of the residence and vehicle he fled in did not yield the firearm, the news release said.
