St. Vrain Valley Schools To Get New Apple Technology Products

During the December 13, 2017, St. Vrain Valley School Board meeting, the school board approved the purchase of new Apple technology products and professional development.

The district will purchase: 470 iPads, 375 MacBook laptops and provide professional development. The costs total to $563,300.

According to the memorandum submitted by Superintendent Dr. Don Haddad, "This purchase will support middle school iPad and teacher laptop replacement as part of the Learning Technology Plan (LTP) initiative."

The technology will be purchased directly from Apple Computer, Inc. through their Apple Education Pricing list. The total amount saved by purchasing the technology through this program is $17,745.

In addition to approving the technology purchase, the school board unanimously approved a contract with JAMF Software, LLC for mobile device and computer management solutions. JAMF Software LLC will "provide management of over 20,000 iPads and 7,000 macOS computers throughout the District. The management includes: inventory, application deployment, passcode management, and management policies."

In the memorandum provided to the school board, "The cost to the District for the initial term will be $257,546.62 for licensing, support and professional services. Options to renew the contract for years two (2) and three (3) will be approximately $185,600.00 each year."
