Anyone interested in viewing a meteor shower and full moon on Nov. 17 is invited to a public stargazing event at the Front Range Community College’s observatory on the Boulder County campus in Longmont, 2121 Miller Drive.

The observatory is in the courtyard of the Classroom Building on the Longmont campus, according to a FRCC news release.

The event is open to all FRCC students, faculty, instructors and the general public. Masks are required in the observatory dome regardless of vaccination status, the news release states. No reservations are necessary.

Amateur astronomers are invited to bring their own telescopes to set up in the courtyard.

Weather permitting, a full moon and Leonid meteor shower should be visible from 7-8 p.m., according to the news release.

Because circumstances can change, people are asked to follow @frccedu on Twitter or contact Anthony Smith at 303-678-3867.
