Colorado Creative Industries is Colorado’s art agency. It has been operating under the same budget for a decade. On April 29, the organization received and additional $1.25 million in operational funding.

CCI has operated through an appropriation of gaming revenue that has been set at a flat $2 million since 2013. The organization also receives $900,000 from the National Endowment for the Arts as matched funding. The increase in budget this year is more than a 50% increase in regards to state funding.

“Considering many of CCI's existing programs have significant unmet need, funds will continue to be invested into current successful programs and further be allocated in alignment with the priorities identified in their strategic plan and informed by community input. CCI is kicking off a strategic planning process this spring and invites the community to share their thoughts on how CCI can best strengthen and grow Colorado’s Creative Industries ecosystem,” stated a news release from CCI.

Arts and Culture production account for $16.9 billion or 3.9% of Colorado’s economy, although the state is ranked 46th in the nation for state legislative appropriations
