People and businesses around Boulder County are stepping up to support frontline nonprofit organizations responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. These groups are experiencing volunteer losses, unprecedented demands for services, and have had to restructure how they operate. Through supporting these frontline nonprofit groups, our community is rallying to remember-despite shared financial and personal hardships-those most vulnerable among us.

In fact, all nonprofit organizations -- from those providing direct services in response to the pandemic to our cultural organizations to outdoor education programs -- are struggling from income losses and facing more. Some organizations will benefit from government and foundation aid, but not all. The reality is that many of Boulder County's nonprofits will not survive this crisis unless individuals continue stepping up to save the important organizations that support and enhance the needs and lives of us all.
The Longmont Community Foundation and Community Foundation Boulder County urge you to give generously to local nonprofits on May 5, as part of the Giving Tuesday Now campaign.
In these unusual times, here are a few ways you might consider finding new ways to make a gift:

  • It is now easier to claim a tax deduction. If you do not itemize on your taxes but make charitable cash donations in 2020, you are eligible to take a $300 income tax deduction. If you do itemize, an income tax deduction will be allowed for every dollar contributed (cash donations) up to the taxpayer's adjusted gross income.
  • Consider using your stimulus check
  • Families, friends, or colleagues can decide on a Boulder County organization(s) they wish to support. Collect what you can each give and designate one adult to hop online during Giving Tuesday Now and make the donation.

No matter the amount you are able to give, it will help make a difference. That is the power of a day like Giving Tuesday Now. When all of us come together from across the county, our impact is broad and can be deep.

Together, for Boulder County's nonprofit community,
