Dear St. Vrain Valley Community,
Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work to advance student learning and success. The safety and well-being of our students, teachers, and staff is always our highest priority, and accordingly, we take a very proactive approach to ensure we are fully prepared to support the well-being of our community.
There has been a lot of information recently in the news about COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus, and St. Vrain has been actively monitoring the outbreak since early January. We have had extensive and detailed public health response plans in place for years that we continuously review and update, in order to remain highly prepared at all times, so that we can respond quickly to issues which may arise.
Through our strong partnerships with state and county public health agencies we will continue to daily monitor COVID-19 to ensure that we are up-to-date on pertinent information and well prepared to provide communication to our community and take any necessary actions in alignment with state and county recommendations. We are also reviewing out-of-state and out-of-country travel for school-sponsored events on a case-by-case basis.
At this time, the risk to our community is still low, however this time of year, we routinely experience an increase in the flu and other seasonal illnesses; therefore we have increased the frequency of cleaning protocols in our schools and other district buildings. We also continue to strongly encourage healthy habits such as frequent hand washing, covering your cough, and keeping students home when they are sick. Below are resources that families can access to learn more about COVID-19 and how to protect yourself and your family against the spread of germs. The Colorado Health Emergency Line for the Public (CO HELP) is also a toll-free hotline for the latest public health information with reliable, consistent, and accurate information. The CO HELP number is 1-877-462-2911. Interpreters are available in Spanish and many other languages.

Again, thank you for your continued support as we strive for excellence in serving our families. We will continue to share information about any potential COVID-19 response in St. Vrain if the risk in our community increases. You can also visit our information page about COVID-19 at https://www.svvsd.org/coronavirus for ongoing updates.
