Longmont city government will observe the Thanksgiving holiday Thursday and Friday and most facilities will be closed. City council also is taking the week off and will not meet today.
Other city facilities and services that will be closed for the holiday listed on the city website include:
- The Community Meal Program will be closed Wednesday through Friday.
- The Children, Youth & Families Building will be closed Thursday and Friday.
- The Longmont Public Library, as well as curbside delivery, will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday and reopen at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
- The service center for Longmont Power & Communications and NextLight is closed Thursday and Friday. NextLight customers who have technical issues can email [email protected] or call 303-774-4494 and leave a voice message for the technical support team. Electric customers who experience an outage can still call 303-651-8386.
- The Development Services Center is closed Thursday and Friday.
- All recreation facilities, including the Ice Pavilion, are closed Thursday. The Longmont Recreation Center, Centennial Pool and the Ice Pavilion are open by reservation only on Friday. The St. Vrain Memorial Building will be closed Friday.
- The Senior Center continues to be closed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Trash, recycling and compost collection will not be provided on Thanksgiving. Collection services regularly scheduled for Thursday will take place on Friday. The Waste Diversion Center also will be closed Thursday through Sunday, according to a post on the city of Longmont Facebook page.
In addition, Boulder County government offices will be closed for Thursday and Friday, according to the county website.
The free COVID-19 testing site at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont will be closed on Thanksgiving. It will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday, according to a post on the Boulder County Public Health Facebook page.
