  1. Around the Table: Jai Thai Restaurant Review

The first thing you notice at Jai Thai at lunchtime is just how busy it is. Most of the small restaurant’s six tables are full, as are nearly all of the twelve spots at the bar in front of the sushi conveyer belt (which trundles gorgeous plates of sushi past each diner). Three chefs work in full view behind the bar, miraculously missing each other each time they turn around with a plate of food. Two waitresses see to the customers in a friendly and efficient manner.

2. Longmont City Council Appoint Members to Boards & Commissions

During Tuesday’s city council meeting, Longmont City Council made board and commission appointments to fill vacancies that have members whose terms expire in December 2017.

3. Letter to the Editor: Teaching high school students how to respond to sexual harassment reaps benefits

It’s apparent that sexual harassment is part of everyday life. Recent Times-Call opinion pieces by Ralph Josephsohn and Sally Lyons-Ragin considered the effect that this noxious behavior has on adult women in the workplace. Unfortunately, verbal and physical sexual harassment also affects nearly half of students in grades 7-12, at an age when they are less equipped to appropriately respond, according to a study by the American Association of University Women.

4. Wild Goose Chase

Christmas is nearly upon us so I thought I’d do an article on the Canada goose because some people like to cook goose for Christmas dinner. Nearly driven to extinction in the early 1900s, reintroduction programs were so successful that now Canada geese have become a nuisance in some areas.

5. St. Vrain Valley Schools To Get New Apple Technology Products

During the December 13, 2017, St. Vrain Valley School Board meeting, the school board approved the purchase of new Apple technology products and professional development.
