  1. Letter to the Editor: Green Light Radio Responds to FCC Commissioner Michael O’Rielly’s Letter

The radio frequency spectrum, which the FCC considers its ward, is a very large and complicated communication system to manage. At no point do we want to belittle the scope, or the ability of the FCC, to do its job. However, we do want to address some of the inconsistencies in the letter of FCC Commissioner Michael O’Rielly, the letter’s reported author, as he skirts around the business aspects of their enforcement, makes highly debatable assumptions about public “harm,” and then even flat-out lies about a loss of content.

2. January 2018 Proclaimed as ‘Radon Action Month’ in Longmont

On Tuesday night, Longmont Mayor Brian Bagley proclaimed January 2018 as ‘Radon Action Month’.

Susan Martino, an environmental health specialist at Boulder County Public Health and a project coordinator for the Front Range Public Health Regional Radon Roadmap Project, was present at the city council meeting and accepted the proclamation.

3. Letter To The Editor From FCC Commissioner Michael O’Rielly: CO Pirate Radio is Illegal & Harmful

4. Longmont’s Pirate FM Radio Station

A few days ago, we noticed that Longmont appears to have obtained it’s very own underground radio station.

5. Longmont City Council Considering Updating On-Street Vehicle Parking Rules

After a few months of real-world implementation, the City of Longmont is planning on adjusting and improving the city’s municipal code relating to the impoundment of abandoned, publicly kept or junked vehicles.

6. Colorado Legislature Back in Session Today

With the rap of the gavel by the House Speaker, the Colorado General Assembly reconvenes today to start the second regular session of the 71st general assembly. According to the Chief Clerk of the House, after the national anthem is sung and Pledge of Allegiance read, roll call will be taken and notifications sent to the Governor and Senate that the House is now officially in session.
