The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch for Boulder and Broomfield counties beginning today at 2:54 p.m.
The watch will remain in effect until Thursday at 6 p.m. according to a news release from NWS.
Heavy snows are expected for the area with accumulations reaching four to 10 inches. Heavier totals are expected in higher elevations.
The storm is expected to begin Wednesday evening and last through Thursday afternoon, according to NWS predictions.
Meteorologists warn drivers to take extra caution as roads could be slick and hazardous after the storm begins.
