NEWS RELEASE
LONGMONT LIBRARY
*********************
The Longmont Library is thrilled to announce its diverse and engaging lineup of free programs for the winter/spring 2024 season. With a commitment to fostering learning, creativity, and community engagement, the Library presents a series of events catering to all ages and interests, offering an array of author talks, informative presentations, storytimes, creative movement classes, crafts for kids, and an assortment of free programs and resources for the entire community.

As part of the Library's dedication to literature enthusiasts, the winter/spring season will feature thought-provoking author talks by acclaimed writers including James LaRue and Rachel Feder, providing a unique opportunity for attendees to engage with their favorite authors. These talks aim to inspire, enlighten and spark meaningful discussions among book-lovers.

The Longmont Library will also host a series of informative presentations centered around innovative ideas including agrivoltaics (solar energy + agriculture), the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group’s work and the impact of climate change on our state’s water resources. These sessions encourage community members to explore and embrace cutting-edge concepts and issues that are shaping our world today.

Families with young children are in for a treat as the Library rolls out an exciting lineup of activities designed to entertain and educate. Daily storytimes will engage young kids in fun, early-literacy skills and socio-emotional learning. Additionally, creative movement classes will encourage children to express themselves through movement and dance. Engaging crafts tailored for kids will unleash their creativity, allowing them to craft, create and explore their artistic abilities.

Programs for teens are diverse, as well, with writing groups, volunteer activities, crafting programs and video gaming nights for tweens (3rd-5th grade) and middle- and high-schoolers.

Most notably, all these programs are offered FREE of charge, underscoring the Library's commitment to making enriching experiences accessible to everyone in the Longmont community. The Longmont Library remains a beacon of inclusivity, welcoming individuals and families from diverse backgrounds to partake in these exceptional offerings.

"We are excited to present this vibrant Winter/Spring lineup, offering something for everyone in our community," said Jon Solomon, director of the Longmont Library. “We invite everyone to join us as we embark on this enriching journey together."
