Longmont Police Report - August 21, 2019

The City of Longmont maintains hundreds of trees and ornamental planting beds throughout the city. Each year, the City applies mulch to these areas in order to keep the trees and plants healthy.

One of the worst air pollutants is ground-level ozone. Ozone, although beneficial in the stratosphere for life, is dangerous at ground level -negatively impacting respiratory and other health conditions.

Effective immediately, the SVG trail is closed between Main Street and Boston Avenue and the Price Road pedestrian bridge over the St. Vrain Creek near the BNSF Railroad Bridge. The closure is for public safety during construction on the Resilient St. Vrain project

On Saturday, August 10 the Education Foundation of St. Vrain Valley hosted its annual Sunrise Stampede at Silver Creek High School. Participants are able to choose between a 10K run or a 2K walk/run.
