Bonita Jean Letz was born April 18, 1942 to Ernest Eckersall and Catherine Eckersall (nee Merrilees) in Chicago, Illinois. Bonnie, as she was known to all her family and friends, graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1960. She was employed in the data processing group at Continental National Bank in Chicago. She married Ronald (Ron) Letz on August 27, 1966 at Bethany Union Church in Chicago. She then resided in Oak Lawn, Illinois until moving to Gunbarrel Estates in Boulder County Colorado in September 1969. Bonnie was blessed with the birth of two sons, Bruce Allen born April 5, 1969 and Scott Douglas born January 18, 1971.

Bonnie got the most joy out of the simple things in life, her family, good friends and her church. She enjoyed numerous family vacations especially visiting many of the National Parks in the western US. She was an active member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church in Boulder and was a Sunday school teacher at one time.

Bonnie enjoyed knitting and belonged to the Stitches group at church. She also, enjoyed sewing sequin felt calendars and reading novels authored by Danielle Steel, Janet Oke, Karen Kingsbury, and Debbie Macomber and religious theme books.

Bonnie is survived by her Husband Ron Letz; Son Bruce Letz; Son Scott Letz. Cousin Sandra Guenther. Brother-in-law James Letz and sister-in-law Ann Letz. Niece Karen Letz: Niece Donna Letz. Grandniece Lindsay Drake. Brother-in-law Tom Brookhouzen. Niece Laurie Paz. Grandniece Brooke Paz; Grandniece Kyla Paz; Grandniece Taylor Paz. Nephew Chris Brookhouzen.

A memorial service will be held and livestreamed Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 1:00pm at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
