November 30, 1946 - December 26, 2021

With great sadness, yet with the unshakable hope of resurrection, Bonnie Jean “B.J” Culver, wife of Dr. Bill Culver, passed into the arms of Jesus on December 26. “Sparky,” as Bill would often call her, and Bill were each other’s closest friend for more than five decades.

B.J. passed away peacefully after a year long battle with leukemia. She will be deeply missed by her husband Bill, two sons Jay and his wife Christy, and Jeff and his wife Shari and her six grandchildren: Makenzie, Mason, Grant, Lauren, Kaitlyn and Luke.

B.J, who was a friend to many, was born November 30, 1946, in Canton, Illinois, to parents Clare and Virginia Shull. She was their only child. B.J. attended Northwestern University, then the University of Missouri in Columbia, where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority and graduated from the Mizzou School of Journalism.

It was at Mizzou that B.J. met and fell in love with William G. (Bill) Culver. They were married in Columbia, Missouri, on June 8, 1968, after they both graduated. Bill then attended and graduated from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and served 20 years as an Air Force physician. He established his medical practice in Loveland in 1988, focusing on adult and pediatric allergy and asthma. Both B.J. and Bill were members of Faith Church for 32 years.

B.J. had a keen interest in politics, but she was best known for her resilient spirit and warm personality. She served as a discussion leader in

Bible Study Fellowship for 13 years, and as a member and teaching leader in Women in the Word for 21years.

Most importantly, B.J. had a personal relationship with her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, beginning in 1973. She knew and lived by His saving grace and trusted in His power to redeem and make all things new. Her hope in Christ brought her through many challenges in life. And today, that hope is made sight, as she entered into the presence of the Lord. It was her prayer that her life would be a legacy of hope and faith.

To God be the glory!
