July 11, 1954 ~ September 3, 2021 (age 67)

After a nearly 14-month battle with Leukemia, Deborah Helen Manica (Shepherd) passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021, in Lafayette, CO at the age of 67. She leaves behind her husband, David Manica, two daughters, Christine Morris (Zach) and Michelle Landowski (Wade) and five grandchildren, Calia, Chianna and Dominic Morris; Dante and Tatum Landowski.

She was born on July 11, 1954, in Boulder, CO to Rachael Shepherd (Parish) and Royal Shepherd who predeceased her. She grew up in a large loving family with one sister, two brothers and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. After graduating from Fairview High School in 1972, she went on to have many jobs, but by the age of 19 she had found her calling at Mountain Bell. Due to her undenied work ethic, respect for others and drive to succeed she would go on to work up through the company through the years and after four different ownerships (Mountain Bell, USWest, Qwest and Century Link) and almost 50 years of service she retired in 2018 under the company name Century Link.

Though she loved the challenge her career brought her, she loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother most of all. Debbie was loved by everyone in the community and through the years could be found volunteering at church, as a team mom or for her grandchildren’s schools. She loved spending time with friends and family and exploring Colorado’s beautiful mountains. She enjoyed traveling with her husband across America and taking yearly trips with her family to their cabin in Pitkin, CO.

She is survived by her mother Rachael Shepherd; her siblings, Carrie (Fred) and David; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Royal Shepherd and her brother Nelson.

The family invite you to join them for a memorial service on Friday, September 17th at 3pm. The service will be held at Boulder Valley Christian Church, 7100 S. Boulder Rd., Boulder, CO. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in her name, https://givenow.lls.org/give/342076/#!/donation/checkout.
