Diane Marie Bahrenburg, 73 of Thornton was born on August 5, 1950 in Brooklyn, New York. She passed away peacefully on November 3, 2023 surrounded by her family. Preceding her in death were her parents, Jim and Joan Cassidy, her sister, Mary Ellen Cassidy Dotson. She is survived by her loving husband Ken of 51 years, her children Cristin (Greg) Ford and Brian (Cindy) Bahrenburg, and six grandchildren, Cooper, Benjamin, Keagan, and Piper Ford and Dylan and Logan Bahrenburg, her sister Eileen (Glenn) Schwizer.
Diane graduated from Kings County Nursing School in 1971. She began her career in pediatrics at North Shore Hospital in Manhassett, New York. She later moved to Colorado in 1973 and worked in OB/GYN at Rose Medical Center and University of Colorado Medical Center. She earned her Bachelors degree in Nursing at Metro State University in 2000. She then finished her career with Tri-County Nurse Family Partnership, where she loved guiding and building relationships with first time mothers.
In retirement she loved spending time with family and friends, old and new. She enjoyed being involved in many activities in her community. She always enjoyed a good cup of tea. She will be remembered for her contagious laughter, beautiful smile, compassion and the love she shared with her family and friends. She was happy as long as she was walking, talking and laughing. Her goodbye to all was toodles.
Services will be held at St. Augustine Church in Brighton on Tuesday, November 14th at 11am. The rosary will be said before the service at 10:30. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
