Edward Bunetta Jr, 82 of Broomfield, passed away February 16, 2024. Ed was born January 25, 1942 in Youngstown, Ohio to Edward and Ida Bunetta. Ed grew up in Youngstown and Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from Maple Heights High School in 1960. He served in the Navy from 1961 to 1965 on the USS DeHaven DD-727
Ed married Sherill Tyus on April 3, 1966. They lived the first year in Longmont and Erie before moving to his current residence in Broomfield in December of 1967. Ed worked at IBM in manufacturing and then in accounting after earning his bachelors degree from Metro State Denver in 1975. He retired from IBM in 1993 and started up E&S Income Tax and Accounting Service where he continued to do tax preparation and bookkeeping through 2020. Ed enjoyed cheering on kids and grandkids at their various activities throughout their school years. He was also an avid supporter (aka helper) for the volunteer endeavors Sherill embarked on.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife Sherill and both of his parents. Ed is survived by daughters Kris (Brian) and Pam (Tom), son David, grandkids Jason (Ashley), Kyle (Lili), Sydney, Christian, Max, and Laura, brothers Bill (Kathi) and Gene.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers that donations be sent to one of the of following charities that were dear to Ed. The United Church of Broomfield has been his church home for over 50 years and he was actively involved until his passing.
