Gladys Marie Gassman (Waldschimidt) was born June 4th, 1935, to Alex and Mary Waldschimidt of Ellis Kansas.   Gladys was one of eight children.  Gladys is survived by her 4 children (Dale and wife Rebecca, Duane and wife Jenni, Darrell, and a daughter) and her youngest brother and his wife (David Sr. and Debbie Waldschimidt) and their children.  Gladys’s, husband of 63 years proceeded her in death, Cornelius (Corky) Gassman, as well as her mother and father (Alex and Mary), her brothers (Lawrence, Alfred, William, Walter, Alex), and her sister MaryAnn.

Gladys was born in Ellis Kansas, living through the dust bowl and depression, World War II.  She moved from Ellis Kansas in her early twenties, with her family to Denver, Colorado.   After moving to Denver, Gladys worked as a seamstress until she married her husband in 1957.

After Gladys married, her focus was her four children, and her youngest brother, David, through all the adventures of life.  After raising their children, Gladys and Corky retired to Lemoyne Nebraska, on Lake McConaughy, for a long spell of joyful retirement.   Later, Corky and Gladys returned to Colorado and lived with their youngest son, who helped them address the challenges of maturing and the extra care they needed.

Gladys was a true homemaker, and considered her career, that of her children, her husband, and her extended family.   Gladys requested her ashes be scattered in the same place as her husband’s ashes.  Memories of her and her husband should be planted with flowers, for all to love and embrace.
