Harry Lee Gibson was born in Washington County Missouri on Dec. 18, 1932, the 5th of six children to James Harrison and Eula Gibson. James was a preacher and music teacher so music and serving our Lord became an important part of Harry’s life. He taught himself to play the piano by ear and how to swim. Harry loved to sing, he really enjoyed duets and quartets. He got his BS degree from Southwest Missouri State College (now Missouri State University) in 1956. While he was in college he took two years off to serve in the 61st Army Infantry regiment during the Korean war. He was stationed at Camp Carson in Colorado Springs Colorado which is where he fell in love with Colorado. He met Anita Sue Gremore in 1954 when home on leave from the Army and married her on Jan. 11, 1955. After finishing his military obligations he resumed his studies in business. Harry L Gibson got his Masters from University of Wyoming and PhD. from the University of Iowa. Harry taught Management Information Systems for 23 years at Colorado State University. After Retiring from CSU he spent 6 years at Hong Kong Baptist University as director of the MBA program. When Harry and Sue returned to the U.S. they split time between Kerrville Texas and Estes Park Colorado before settling in Frederick Colorado. Harry was the father of six and a dedicated husband to Sue for 57 years. Harry served the Church all his life and loved the Lord dearly.
Harry L Gibson was preceded in death by his wife Sue Gibson, brothers Freeman and Cletis, and sisters Marybelle and Jean. Harry is survived by brother Dennis Gibson of Brandon, MS, and children: Steven L Gibson of Loveland Co, Grant K Gibson of Parker, CO, Suzanne R Penner of Forney Tx, Paul C. Gibson of Three Forks MT, Craig A Gibson of Greeley Co. and Alisa D Gibson of Fort Collins Co., 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Public Interment with military honors is scheduled for 12:00 PM March 19 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Fort Collins, Colorado.
