August 31, 1951 - December 6, 2021

Jack Dean Crouse passed away in his home in Queen Creek, AZ on Monday, December 6, 2021, at the age of 70 after a short illness.  Jack was born August 31, 1951, to Jack Dempsey Crouse and Bernice Marie (Finn) Crouse in Fairfield, California.  Jack had two older sisters Pamela and Cheryl.

Jack’s father died in 1958 and in 1959 he gained a step-father, Bill Crews, and three sisters, Margaret, Marilyn, and Susan.  The family lived on the State Line Ranch northeast of Laird, CO.  He went to grade school in Haigler, NE and high school in Wray, CO.  Jack had severe allergies and asthma and the ranching life was never his passion; instead he looked forward to someday living in the big city.

After graduating from Wray High School in 1970 Jack moved to Lincoln, NE where he attended the University of Nebraska.  Go Huskers!!  Job opportunities got in the way of his education and he moved to Phoenix, AZ where he worked for Motorola, then to Thousand Oaks, CA working for TRW, then to Chicago, IL, and finally back to the Phoenix area.  He loved the desert heat in Phoenix and never could understand why anyone wanted to live where there was actually the possibility of snow.

Jack received his BS degree in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix in 1998.  The degree was more of a feather in his cap than something he needed for career.  At the time of his death, Jack was the owner and president of Database & Internet Resources, Inc., designing, building, implementing and maintaining database applications.

Jack loved life and always was up for a new adventure.  He drove to Idaho to see the 2017 solar eclipse and was looking forward to the next one in 2024.  He loved fast machines and began with motorcycles.  After having a terrible accident he turned his love to cars.  He owned several Chevrolet Camaros before his passion turned to Corvettes.  He owned a very special black Corvette and a classic Mercedes Benz convertible in pristine condition.  Jack drove an old pick-up because he didn’t want too many miles on his special cars or have anything result in their damage. He loved reading and always had an interesting fact to share or a quote from a book or a poem.  Five years ago, Jack got serious about weightlifting.  Over the course of these years, he set two World Records and several National Records.  He participated in both bench press and dead weight lifting.  Just days before Jack got sick, he set three National Records in Las Vegas, NV.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents.  Left to mourn his passing are his sisters, Pamela (Larry) Neuschwanger of Wray, Cheryl (Bruce) Trautman of Saronville, NE, Margaret (Bob) Shade of Wray, Marilyn (Ardel) Harger and Susan Porche all of Lincoln, NE, his son Andrew Thompson and granddaughter Sage, who he absolutely adored, both of Thousand Oaks, CA, nieces Melinda, Laura, Diana, Jennifer, Melissa, Tina, Lindsey, Kristen, and Molly, nephews David, Ryan, Brandon and Matthew, 37 great-nieces and great-nephews, along with too many cousins to count and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Fellowship, 1003 Lincoln Street, Wray, Colorado. Interment will be held in the Glendale Cemetery in Vernon, Colorado. Memorials may be made to the Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home in Jacks honor.

Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
