October 24, 1966 ~ October 17, 2021 (age 54)
Jacqueline (Jaye) Renee Lampe, passed away peacefully on October 17th, 2021, one week shy of her 55th birthday. She was born October 24, 1966 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Guy and Carolyn Lampe. She married John Douglas Greive in May of 1992 and later gave birth to two sons. Her oldest son, Landon James Greive was born in October of 2000. Byce Patrick Greive was born in May of 2002. To her boys, she was “the best mom in the whole world!”
She is survived by her husband, her two sons, her mother Carolyn Lampe Anderson, and her 6 siblings; Shannon Lampe, Marc Lampe, Janine Uhl, AJ Lampe, Diana Nardini, and Alex Kaufman.
Jaye attended McNicolas HS and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton in 1988 graduating Summa Cum Laude. At Dayton she was a member of the Lambda Nu sorority.
She spent much of her adult life living in the front range of Colorado. She started her professional career working at NCR in Denver. In the early 90’s she started working at Research Systems (which later became Exelis, and Harris Corp.) in Boulder. She started at Research Systems as a Sales Engineer and held various positions including Sales Manager. She ran sales offices in Europe and Washington DC. She ultimately became President of the company before retiring from that career in 2014. Her work at RSI took her on travels to Europe, Japan, China, Australia, and many parts of the US. Through her work she contributed to national security and wide ranging scientific discoveries. She loved meeting new people, learning about what they did and helping them to solve their problems with data visualization and image analysis. She made many friends throughout the world during her travels.
After retiring, Jaye received a master’s degree in Counseling and Career Development from Colorado State University. She graduated with a 4.0 grade point average. This launched her next career where she worked as a Career Development Advisor at the University of Colorado. Her passion for working with students and her experience in industry proved to be valuable assets in helping students find their passions and launch into their own careers. She loved working with the students! She often said she would have worked there for free. While working at CU, she was the most requested counselor by students.
Jaye loved to ski, hike, walk her dogs, listen to music, play the banjo, travel, read, and learn about anything and everything. She was a great listener and loved to talk to people about their passions and interests. This quality along with her warm smile and witty sense of humor caused people to be drawn to her like a magnet. Digging deeper, you soon realized that her caring nature made her someone to count on when you needed a friend’s advice, a sounding board, a shoulder to cry on, or someone to just hear you. She had an appetite for discovering the best in everyone and helping you see that in yourself. She made the world a better place by being an example of how to treat others. Jaye was a special person. She was a gift to those that knew her.
Funeral services will be held at Saint Francis of Assisi in Longmont, CO on Oct 28th, 2021 at 2pm. In lieu of gifts or flowers, please consider making a donation to the Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance in the name of Jaye Lampe.
