Jake Casados Obituary On February 13, 2021, Tech Sergeant Jake Casados was presented, blameless before the presence of God’s glory with great joy. (Paraphrase of Jude 1:24) All of heaven is celebrating today's homecoming. On Earth, he is dearly missed by his wife of 42 years, Sally Casados, his children Johnny and Carol Casados of Arkansas, Carolyn and Sam Broadstock of North Carolina, Joanne and Charlie Deem, Mary Ann Marchese, Diane and Rick Dipato of California, Lyn and Anthony Bader, Mona Vick, Betty Julian, and Melanie Vick of Colorado, Doug Ardapple of Georgia, his fifteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his older brother, Samual Casados, Jr. He is also loved by dear friends, Doug Ardapple, Shirley and Jim McClarney, and Greg and Kelly Wilcoxson He is preceded by his son, David Casados, and grandson, Dante Dipato.
In the words of preacher D.L. Moody, today you have read that Jake Casados of Dacono, Colorado is deceased. Don’t you believe it for a minute! He is more alive now than ever before. He has gone up higher, that is all, out of this old clay tenement into a house that is immortal -- a body that death cannot touch, that sin cannot taint; a body fashioned like unto His glorious body. Jake was born of the flesh in 1929. Jake was born of the Spirit in 2004. That which is born of the flesh may die. That which is born of the Spirit will live forever. The exact date of Jake’s birth is a mystery only his mother is certain of, but it is celebrated on April 9th. This date, in 1929, was six month before the crash of the stock market that began the Great Depression. He was twelve-years-old when Pearl Harbor was bombed, and joined the military in 1946.
His enlistment date placed him in the Army Air Corp, which we now know as the United States Air Force. He worked on the C-54 aircraft that was part of Operation Fettles that dropped food into Berlin, working with the Royal Air Force. This is when he met his first wife, Mary Syres, the mother of his six oldest children. He had an exciting military career in the United States Air Force for 27 years and 4 months, and loved to tell his grandchildren and anyone else who wanted to sit and listen about his adventures in the service. In October of 1972, Jake went to a bar in California, and saw a beautiful woman walking across the floor. He followed her back to her seat, and bought her round after round of Harvey Wallbangers. This woman, who one day be known as Sally Casados, passed these drinks to her friend, but she did take the sweet man home. The next morning, he took his future wife and her four girls to Yosemite National Park. While he did have to return to Washington D.C. for a time, he truly never left the love of his life and his new daughters.
After retiring from his time in the service, he returned to California and started Atwater Upholstery with Sally. In 1976, Jake, Sally, and the four girls moved to his home state of Colorado. For a time, Jake and his brother Sam, worked in the upholstery business in the Denver Metro Area. For forty-two years, Jake and Sally ran a successful upholstery business called Albatross Upholstery. Where they raised their four girls and some grandkids. In 1978, Jake’s sister Bella told him, “You’re marrying her, or else,” and he finally married Sally. The next year, they moved their mobile home to Dacono, Colorado. It was in this home he would pass away from Parkinson’s Disease. He will be missed, but his family knows that he is in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
