Kristan “Krissy” Michelle Bancroft passed away on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020 at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greely, Colorado surrounded by her family. She was 32 years old. Krissy was born on May 12th, 1988 to Rodney E. and Carol Ranae (Hubbell) Bancroft in Burlington, Colorado. She was one of three children born to this union. She grew up on the Bancroft family farm. Krissy enjoyed doing anything on the farm. She enjoyed checking cows and tagging calves, it was her job to hold the tagger; she also enjoyed helping the family fix fence, but by the time they were done, anything she could get her hands on would soon be thrown outside the pickup. She would run the PTO on the silage truck for her dad. When it was time for wheat drilling Krissy loved hearing the sound of the wheat going into the drills. Her brothers Ryan and Tyson always allowed Krissy to have a little bit of fun. They let her drive the 4wheeler once or twice but quickly realized she made a better passenger than driver. Another time the boys let her drive a pickup, she was so short she easily scooted down on the seat and mashed the gas pedal to the floor, the boys got her pulled up in the seat right before going through a fence, the boys were terrified but she was laughing the entire time. She loved to go fast. Casey and Krissy became very close while Tyson and Casey lived in Colorado Springs while she was going to school there. Casey was Krissy’s ‘’little’’ friend. Krissy didn’t really have any use for babies they were too noisy but as soon as Layla and Aubrey got older they really started forming a bond, she really enjoyed that they would get her drinks and rub her back. She seemed to tolerate Little Jack more than most babies because he didn’t cry too much. Krissy was especially close to her grandparents Jack and Janet Bancroft, they lived only 1 mile apart. The family moved to the Bancroft family homestead in 2001 when Krissy was 12 years old. Krissy started pre-school in Stratton, then attended school in Hi Plains through the 5th grade and then started 6th grade in Burlington through the 9th grade. Krissy graduated in May 2007 from Colorado School of Deaf and Blind in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Krissy moved to Almar in Julesburg, Colorado on June 1st, 2009 and then Harris House in 2015 where she became part of one big extended family. Krissy loved riding horses, sledding and music especially country. She had a huge heart, a great sense of humor and a streak of orneriness. If Krissy gave you a nickname you were very special to her. She didn’t know anything, but love and she would get to know you for the person you were. She was preceded in death by her paternal, granerrere Jack Bancroft, her maternal grandparents; Ralph and Velma Hubbell, and her cousin Evan Bancroft. Those left to cherish her memories are her parents; Rodney and Ranae Bancroft of Seibert, Colorado, her brothers; Ryan Bancroft of Seibert, Colorado and Tyson Bancroft and his wife Casey of Vona, Colorado, her maternal grandma Janet Bancroft of Seibert, Colorado, her nieces and nephews; Layla, Aubrey, and little Jack Bancroft. Also surviving Krissy are numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Krissy was an amazing young lady and will be missed by all who were blessed to love and know her. Memorials may be made to the East Central BOCES Bancroft Memorial in Krissy's memory and may be sent to East Central BOCES, PO Box 910, Limon, Colorado 80828.
