March 23, 1959 - May 08, 2021

Kurt William-Arthur Schwader, 62 of Loveland, left this earthly realm to his heavenly home on May 8th, 2021. Having battled valiantly against COVID-19 for nearly 5 weeks, the nurses in the ICU said they could tell what a strong man he was for how long and hard he fought. He will now refocus that strength as he joins our God in Heaven as a warrior.

Born in Hammond, IN to Arthur “Butch” and Jacquelyn “Jackie” Schwader, and raised in Griffith, IN, Kurt graduated from Griffith High School. On a family vacation to Colorado in 1976, he woke up as they drove through Loveland to Estes Park and said he felt like he was home. He moved to Loveland at the age of 20 where remained a resident for the rest of his life. Kurt ingratiated himself with the community, volunteering 11 years of his life in service to the Loveland Fire Department.

25 years ago, Kurt and his wife, Becki, founded Air Masters HVAC in the garage of their home, eventually expanding to a commercial site near Berthoud where the business continues to operate today. Never content to slow down, Kurt also spent countless hours maintaining the family rental properties and frequently found himself in the mountains of Sand Creek where he opted to build his own cabin, piece by piece. Most at home outdoors, Kurt was an avid hunter and fisher as well a collector of antique guns and rare coins. He was always driving from town to town looking for that next “Smokin’ Deal!”.

Always the family man, Kurt is survived by his wife of 30 loving years, Becki, his 3 children, Colton (29), Serene (26) and Christian (25), his Daughter-in-Law Jordyn and 2 grandchildren Ellianna (2) and Auriella (1 month), his Mother Jackie, brother Randy, sisters Sandy and Michelle and many nieces and nephews. He found pride in his Children’s accomplishments; Colton serving 8 years in the United States Marine Corps attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant and having two daughters of his own, Serene graduating from UNC with a Bachelor’s in Business Management with minors in Entrepreneurship and Global Business and Christian owning his own home and developing as an HVAC technician to one day assume the family business. His legacy carries on.

Kurt was preceded in death by his father Arthur Schwader and his brother Dennis Schwader who also recently passed from COVID-19. They embrace together once more in the fields of paradise.

Public services in honor of Kurt will be held at Dwayne-Webster Park on Friday May 14th at 11:00 am with a celebration of life immediately after. He always wanted a picnic style memorial so please bring a blanket to sit on.
