May 20, 1933 - May 7, 2023

Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lou Anne finished her journey to heaven on a beautiful Sunday morning. She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Carlton “Pete” as well as her parents and sister. She is survived by her five children Cindy (Jon) Platt, Sharon (Jim) Bishop, Doug (Susan) Garno, Paul (Kelly) Garno and Phil (Katie) Garno. She has 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was born and married the love of her life, Pete Garno in Rochester, New York. They moved to Loveland, Colorado, then Crystal Lakes, Colorado, and back to Loveland.  They wintered in Tucson, Arizona as well.

Dedicated to her family, she was a great mother and a second mother to many - teaching her children to love unconditionally, taught right from wrong and to care for others as yourself. She taught her children how to laugh, love and sacrifice. Her faith was imparted to her children, and she never wavered in her commitment to Jesus Christ. She taught self-sufficiency through 4-H, cooking, and sewing.

Pete and Lou Anne have been parishioners at St. John’s Catholic Church and they owned The Pine Shop on 1st Street in Loveland for many years. While in Crystal Lakes Lou Anne helped manage the restaurant and they lived happily in their ‘cabin in the woods’ for almost 10 years.

While Pete went golfing Lou Anne would spend hours making beautiful quilts for family and charity passing down a true legacy.

Though gone from us today, we know we will meet again when our Father calls us home. ‘Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.’

If you wish to honor Lou Anne, please give a memorial contribution to Pathways Hospice or your favorite charity.
