November 02, 1924 - January 07, 2021
Margery Edmonds was born November 2, 1924 in Fort Collins, Colorado to Irish immigrants Patrick and Johanna (Sullivan) Roach. She was the last survivor of 5 children including Thomas, Frank, Vera, and Josephine. She met her husband , Lee, at a dance where he was playing in the band. They married in 1943.
Marge lost her mother when she was a toddler, never really knowing her. She spent a year in an orphanage with brother Tom while her father got on his feet and readied himself to raise 5 children alone. When she was 9, her and "Tommy" were riding their horse to the school on the corner of Highway 287 and Trilby Road when they were struck by a milk truck. Tommy was hospitalized, and Marge spent a year in a Denver hospital where they worked on saving her foot that had been crushed by the truck's wheel. She went on to lead a full life.
She was a homemaker raising 4 children. In summers she enjoyed working for the cannery during cherry season. She was one of the original members of the Extension Club in which she participated for decades.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald "Lee", her stillborn son, Jonathan, her daughter Vickee Fleming, grandchildren Jessica Rose Edmonds, Richard Fleming, and Andrea Edmonds Schneider.
She is survived by her sons Jerry (Shar), Thomas (Brenda) and David (Vickie), grandchildren Jodi, Jeff, Jeromy, Stephanie, Tracie and Jonathan (Rebecca) Edmonds, Jennifer Case (David), Jason and Robert (Angela) Fleming, many great grandchildren and two great great granddaughters.
She was a follower of Christ, attended Valley Christian Church. It gives the family great comfort knowing of her faith. Thank you to Mckee Medical Center and Mas Alla Hospice home for their care and compassion.
As the family can attest, Marge could always find the four leafed clover. Rest in peace in all of your fine Irishness, Granny.
