Mary Ellen (Kreider) Waddell was born September 7th, 1939.

She was adopted by Lois Ida Gray and William John Kreider and is the 3rd of four children.

Mary was born in Omaha, NE and lived there during her childhood years. Her family moved many times within the city limits and she attended many primary schools. She graduated from Technical High School in 1959 in Omaha, NE.

Mary was married to Frank Mazur in 1959. They had two children and divorced in 1985. She was then married to Robert Waddell in 1989 until separated by her passing.

Mary was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many church positions throughout her life.

Mary excelled in many homemaking skills including but not limited to sewing, cooking, canning of fruits and vegetables and sauces, chocolate candy making, ceramics, crocheting, knitting, playing the piano and she loved to quilt. She spearheaded multiple quilt projects for local rest homes and designed a unique tote bag that earned her the title of "Mary, the Bag Lady." She donated many of these totes which were able to raise a significant amount of money for the opera in Northern Colorado.

Mary was adventurous and loved to travel. She loved to dance and met her sweetheart while taking a western dance class in Longmont, CO. She loved her family very much and was kind and generous, but she was a force to reckon with when circumstances called for a champion.

She worked in many capacities throughout her life, most recently with the Boulder Police department as a dispatcher and a 911 call taker. She also worked for Mountain Bell, Comcast and in various other administrative positions.

Mary died January 16th, 2024.

She is survived by her spouse, Robert Joseph Waddell of Longmont, CO, 2 children Jacqueline Lee Anderson (Burton Anderson) of Justin, TX and William John Mazur (Dava Mazur) of Avon Park, FL. She has 7 grandchildren, Justin Mazur, Rachel Speldos, Brian Anderson, Jason Anderson, Heather Vega, Milana Mazur, and Kyra Mazur. She has 4 great grandchildren, Harper Mazur, Daphnie Mazur, Ethan Speldos and Bennett Anderson.

Mary was loved by all who knew her and will be sorely missed!
