On Thursday, January 28th, Orin Matthews, a loving husband, father of 3, stepfather of 2 and grandfather of 4 passed away at the age of 74 after a lung illness. Orin was born on November 3, 1946 in Lincoln Nebraska to Earl and Lorraine (Wells) Matthews. He grew up in Loveland Colorado and graduated from Loveland High School Class of ’65. After marrying his high school sweetheart Bonnie Langley in 1966. Orin joined the Army, serving in Vietnam as a Sgt. E-5 in the Signal Core Battalion until 1969 and was a proud Army Veteran.

Orin earned a Business Degree from AIMS community college and spent most of his working life as a Produce Manager in Loveland, Ft. Collins, and Greeley. Bonnie and Orin raised their three children in Loveland. They later divorced.

In 1996 Orin met his favorite country dance partner Coleen K. Pepin and they were married in Las Vegas, a favorite destination. Together they danced, golfed, and travelled as much as they could. They coparented 2 daughters.

Besides dancing, watching sports, and landscaping, Orin loved golfing. He was happiest outdoors in his yard, in the mountains, or on the golf course. His high school band The Meteors reunited, and he played guitar and sang for many Loveland High School reunions in his retirement years with Paul, Freddie, Carol and Nadine and Don. Hobbies included creating trees and wreaths decorated with golf balls and in his last months, putting together jigsaw puzzles.

He is survived by his wife Coleen, brother Robert, first wife Bonnie, son Michael, daughter Stephanie and grandchildren Chantell, Ciara, Brittany and Trever.
