PATRICIA KELLY

MAY 12, 1924 – SEPTEMBER 9, 2020

Patricia Jarrett was born May 12, 1924 in Isleworth, Middlesex, Great Britain to Frederick W and Edith J Mulholland Jarrett. An only child, Pat spent her childhood in Kent, in southeastern England. She graduated from Our Lady’s Convent School in Tonbridge, Kent with highest honors and, though accepted to Oxford University, was unable to attend college due to the onset of World War II. Pat worked for the Bank of England throughout and after World War II. Pat was among bank employees evacuated from London to operate the bank in the English countryside thereby protecting the country’s banking system.

After enduring many hardships including severe rationing and losing two homes to bombings, Pat immigrated to Seattle, Washington in 1947 where she worked for Seattle First National Bank. At a church event in 1948 she met John P Kelly. They were married at St James Cathedral, Seattle on July 23, 1949. The couple lived in Seattle, Tucson AZ, Riverside CA and Ramstein, Germany before moving to Albuquerque, NM in 1957. They lived in Albuquerque until 1997 when they moved to Loveland, CO.

Always dedicated first and foremost to her family, Pat was also active in church and community throughout her life serving on various boards and in a number of church and charitable organizations. A talented needlework artist she produced a wide variety of church banners and décor as well as baptismal garments and clothing for needy children. She continued her commitment to helping others almost until her death by knitting caps for babies born in hospitals in Loveland, CO and Malawi, Africa. Happily married for almost 57 years, John died in 2006. Pat lived for 10 years at The Wexford in Loveland where she had many dear friends. In October 2018, Pat moved to McKinney, Texas and the care of her daughter, Jo Ann.

The heart of her family and an unfailingly kind, loving and patient mother, Pat will be deeply missed by those she leaves behind. She is survived by five of her six children, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Her children are Jo Ann Graham and husband Ronald of McKinney, TX; Christopher Kelly and wife Deborah of Loveland, CO; Mother Mary Angela, PCC (Frances Kelly) of Roswell, NM; Maura Zimmerschied and husband James of Richland, WA; and Brendan Kelly of Houston, TX. Her grandchildren are David Kelly and wife, Barbara, Phillip Kelly and wife, Katie, Joseph Kelly and wife Brittany, John Kelly and wife, Jessica, Brian Kelly and wife Marion, Michael Kelly and fiancée Stephanie Anderson; Ann Zimmerschied Parker and husband, Kevin, and Alexander and Samantha Kelly. She was preceded in death by her son, Philip Martin Kelly who died in 1963 at age 3.
