Patrick Emil Hoff



April 24, 1935 ~ February 8, 2024 (age 88)

Patrick Emil Hoff, 88 of Erie, died February 8th, 2024 at his residence.

Patrick was born in Burlington, Kansas, and spent his youth in Quinter and Grinnell in Gove County, western Kansas.  He received his high school diploma from Grinnell High School in Grinnell, Kansas in 1953.

Patrick served in United States Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956, and was honorably discharged with rank of Sergeant.  One tour of duty in Korea with 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division, and was a Recipient of National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and UN Ribbon and Medal.

He graduated with an Associate's Degree from Pasadena City College, California in 1957.

Patrick married Marianna B. Maier on August 8, 1959 in Arcadia, California.  He was a proud and devoted father of two children, Elizabeth Ann (1965-2019) and Peter Edmund (1970-).

Employed as electronics technician at Wahlgren Magnetics and Leach Corporation in southern California before moving to Boulder, Colorado to work at Ball Aerospace in 1967.

Patrick worked at Valleylab Inc. in Boulder from 1968 to 1977, being honored as Top Salesman for 5 years in a row.  He formed own business, Bionex, Inc. in 1980s and held patent on electrosurgical device.  He enjoyed horticulture, bird watching, German cars, home maintenance, and basketball.

Survived by wife Marianna, son Peter, and three grandchildren, Quinn (23), Tess (20), and Liam (16) of Kansas City, Missouri.

Patrick will be cremated by Heritage Funeral and Cremation Services of Lafayette, Colorado.

There will be no formal memorial service.
