September 4, 1990 - November 26, 2023
Rachel Grimm was born in Denver on September 4th, 1990. She was six weeks early and only weighed 3 pounds 14 oz. The only home she ever knew was in Loveland Colorado - though she was a world traveler. She visited Canada, Mexico, The Bahamas, Aruba, Fiji and New Zealand.
Her life was anything but easy. She was born with Cerebral Palsy, but she never let that define or limit her. Her family strived to have her experience everything the rest of the family did. When they climbed the Great Sand Dunes (here in Colorado), she was with them. When they trekked through the hills of New Zealand, they pushed her wheelchair. When her brother wanted to do in-door skydiving for his birthday, she experienced it also. Sadly, she never got to scuba dive with her father and brothers.
She was a long time member of City Lights Church in Greeley. One of her favorite activities was to be a greeter. Her contagious smile made everyone feel welcome. She was everybody's friend. She longed to be a children's pastor. And before she passed into eternity, she was made an Honorary Pastor at City Lights.
From a young age, her favorite scripture was Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a hope and future." For almost thirty years we believed for her complete healing. When she was put to bed at night, she would be told two things: Our God is a GOOD God! And "You're one day closer to being healed." We hoped her healing would have come on this side of eternity, but we know she is truly healed now!
She battled breast cancer for three years before her homecoming. On the Lord's day November 26, Rachel went home to be with Jesus. Thirty-three years was much too short a time to have her in our lives. She had a smile that was contagious. Her laughter always made our hearts leap. She was a great joy to all who met her.
She fought the good fight, she kept the faith, she finished her course. She is now wearing her crown of righteousness! (2 Timothy 4:7-8)
Her celebration of life will be Saturday December 9th at 4pm at:
