February 5th, 1943 - August 21st, 2022
Raymond Edwin Bridge died this week at the age of 79 of an apparent heart attack. With his wife Maddie, he was a long-time resident of Boulder, making his home here for 50+ years. Ray loved the wild areas of the west and enjoyed hiking, camping, backcountry skiing, kayaking, and climbing with his family and friends. He was the author of multiple books on outdoor activities, as well as a book on the geology of Boulder County. Ray was noted for his tireless and strategic work on Colorado conservation issues and for progressive causes. He is greatly missed by his two daughters, Cynthia Bridge Clark of Boise Idaho and Diane Bridge of Lancaster Pennsylvania and by his many friends.
