Richard H. (Dick) Mallory, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, November 25th, 2020.

Dick was born in St. Paul, Minnesota to George and Myrtle (Youngberg) Mallory. In 1947 he joined the Air National Guard. In 1950 he joined the United States Air Force, where he served his country for 20 more years. Retiring in 1970, he settled his family in Arvada, Colorado. After the military, he went on to retire from the KMart Corporation, where he was everyone’s favorite appliance manager. After retirement, Dick, along with his wife Joan, went on to enjoy many years working at Coors Field with the Colorado Rockies and at the Pepsi Center with the Colorado Avalanche and the Denver Nuggets. Dick loved people and easily made many friends throughout his lifetime.

In 1957, Dick married the love of his life, Joan (Balliger) and they enjoyed 63 years of marriage. In this union, they were blessed with four children. Dick‘s favorite sports were golf and hockey. He was a charter member at Indian Tree Golf Course in Arvada and belonged to their Men’s Club for over 40 years. He was fond of watching all sports on television and loved to watch western movies. He also loved playing card games and enjoyed cribbage right up until the end of his life. Dick was a member of the Spirit of Christ Catholic Community.

Dick was preceded in death by his son, Michael Mallory. He is survived by his wife, Joan, his children, Marta (Mark) Reid, Matt (Maureen) Mallory, and Monique (Todd) Stevens; his grandchildren, Mallory (Rob) Losh, Mitchell (Kelsey) Reid, Macguire Mallory, McKenzie Miller, Brendan Mallory; step grandchildren, Corrina (Scott) Hemsher, Kayleen (Wes) Olson, Shane (Molly) Stevens, and Lance Stevens; great grandchildren, Maya Reid, Camden Losh, Kayden and Sawyer Hemsher and Connor, Charley, Ryder and Rori Olson. He is also survived by loving sister in-laws and many nieces and nephews.

A private Funeral Mass will be held in his honor at Spirit of Christ Catholic Church on December 14th, 2020. Burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will be held at later date. Please visit www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com to leave a message for the family.
