Rosemary Waibel, a longtime resident of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on March 12, 2023 at the age of 92 in Loveland,Colorado.
Rosemary was born in Atlanta, Ohio to Robert and Mildred Steiff. She grew up in Columbus and Atlanta, graduating from Atlanta High School. She married Harold Waibel on September 4,1951 and raised her family of three children in Columbus. She enjoyed her time as a homemaker and foster parent while raising her children.
After Harold’s death in 1979, she re-entered the workforce with employment at a racquetball club and later several medical offices. She was an avid racquetball, shuffleboard and ping pong player. She enjoyed many cruises and trips to Las Vegas with her sister and friends. She enjoyed spending winters in Florida with her companion, Joe Kovach.
She is survived by her two children, Debra (Joel) Riley of Loveland, Colorado and Jeffrey Waibel (Aaron Jones) of Las Vegas; five grandchildren, Megan, Erin, Allison, Kathleen and Doug (DJ); nine great grandchildren, Riley, Matthew, Ethan, Evan, Gregory, Owen, Kylie Rose, Douglas, and Jake; four siblings, Robert, Bryon, Michael and Martha and many nieces and nephews. Her husband Harold, son Douglas, sister Patricia and friend Joe preceded her in death.
The family asks that any memorials be made to Pathways Hospice of Northern Colorado or to Alzheimer’s Research
