April 02, 1950 - March 12, 2021

We regretfully announce the passing of Sandra A. Sponheimer of Loveland, Colorado on Friday, March 12, 2021.  Sandra was surrounded by family and passed away peacefully.  She was born in Huntingdon, Tennessee and went to school in Southern Arizona which included high school at Canyon Del Oro and the University of Arizona.  Sandra was one of the strongest, bravest, and most compassionate women to walk this earth and we were blessed to have her as the matriarch of our family.

Sandra married Edward Sponheimer on January 16, 1971, and besides Edward, is survived by three sons, William and wife Lilly, Robert, and Christopher and wife Laura.  She is also survived by her brother Randall Kempf, her sister Dawn Ninness, her grand niece Chloe Cummins, her brother-in-law Peter Tountas, her grandchildren, Tyler, Blaine, Raul, Antonia, and Jason, and her many nieces and nephews.

Sandra retired from Front Range Community College in 2015.  She had a large number of friends with whom she worked and was always considered a tremendous help to teachers, students, and all those she touched.  Many people remarked that she was the glue that helped hold the math department together.

Please consider making a donation in Sandra’s name to the Donor Alliance program (https://www.donoralliance.org/contribute/) in connection with Donate Life Colorado.  Sandra was an organ donor recipient as well as an organ donor herself.

Services to be held 2:00 pm Friday, March 26th at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home and Crematory, 1102 N. Lincoln Avenue, Loveland, Colorado, 80537.
