Born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, Steve spent his childhood all throughout the Mid-West as the family followed his dad’s Coast Guard assignments. In 1963 the family settled in Broomfield where Steve graduated from BHS and then pursued the study of biology for three years at Metro State College in Denver.
Steve’s life took a remarkable turn in 1981 when he met the Lord Jesus Christ and God’s love became real to him. In 1982 he married Laurie Mabie. The two enjoyed a delightful humor that anyone could relate to, and touched many lives with the heart of God. They were blessed with two sons, Joel and Kyle.
Steve had a 33-year career working for the Post Office, and was still employed at the time of his passing. He loved his co-workers and his church family, and will be greatly missed by all. Those remaining to cherish his memory are his wife and sons, three siblings and their families, and many cousins and their families.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 6 at 10:00am at Shepherd of Love Fellowship, 13550 Lowell Blvd. in Broomfield. Donations may be given to Shepherd of Love Fellowship.
