Tracy Lee (Albrecht) Behrens, 61, passed away on the 26th day of March, 2023 at her home in Berthoud, CO with her family at her side; after a short, intense battle with cancer.

Born to parents James Edward Albrecht and Vonnie Lee (Beier) Albrecht on April 2, 1961 in Los Angeles, California. She was raised in Sioux City, Iowa during the early years of her life and finally landed in Wichita, Kansas with her mother a number of years later. Tracy graduated from Wichita Northwest High School in 1979. She started her career in 1983 at IFR Systems Inc. as an electronic assembly technician. After many years of technical work in the aerospace industry; and having a proven track record of unmatched quality, she took employment at the University of Iowa Astronomy and Physics Department as an engineering coordinator.

She built the electronics and provided technical expertise for a number of deep space science projects for JPL/NASA, as well as for the University of Iowa. Her love of the mountains drew her to take employment at Blue Canyon Technologies in Boulder, Colorado; where she planned to finish her career and retire with her devoted husband.

Tracy was a beloved wife to her husband, William, and mother to Hannah Hood.  She is also survived by her stepdaughters Christina Behrens, Chalese Araiza and husband Tony; two beautiful granddaughters, Lilly and Violet Araiza; her mother-in-law, Mary-Lynn Behrens; sister and brother in-law Erin and Con Nguyen and her brother, Mark Albrecht. Tracy is preceded in death by her mother, Vonnie Albrecht, father, James Albrecht and father-in-law, Gary Behrens.

Tracy was a dear friend to many and strived to be a friend to all. She will be sorely missed and the world with be a little duller without her bright smile and loving heart. She was the glue that held her small family together and gave purpose and meaning to her husband. Her spirit will continue for all that knew her....
