Verda Nadine Kunsemiller, known to all as Nadine, was born on August 8, 1934, to Earl and Lucy Young of Judsonia, AR. She went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband Karl of 58 years, on April 26, 2023, she was 88 years old.

Nadine was the oldest of four and was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Linda Hiett and Fern Smith and son Kevin. Nadine is survived by her brother Johnnie Young of Jacksonville, AR, her daughter Karla Auxier (Eldon) of Bennett, CO, granddaughter Jacqueline Hammond (James), and great-granddaughters Vanessa and Nicole of O’Fallon, IL. Nadine met and married Karl N. Kunsemiller on December 4, 1957, in Tripoli North Africa where Karl was stationed in the U.S. Air Force and she was working for the Department of Defense.

Nadine continued to work for D.O.D. at various duty stations across the world throughout Karl’s career in the U.S. Air Force until her retirement in 1992 as an Editorial Assistant at Camp Smith, HI. After her retirement, Nadine and Karl moved to Rowlett, TX where she lived until Karl’s death in 2015. Nadine was an active member of Rowlett Baptist Church in Rowlett, TX until her move to Denver, CO in 2016 to be closer to her daughter and family. After her move, Nadine continued her commitment to Jesus by attending Mississippi Avenue Baptist Church in Aurora, CO. Nadine was also a lifelong long member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and held many positions within the various chapters that she belonged to throughout her life.

Throughout her life, Nadine enjoyed traveling, reading, square dancing and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed sewing and was considered an excellent seamstress. Nadine was known for creating all her square dance dresses as well as matching shirts for Karl. Nadine will be placed with Karl at Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery on June 8, 2023, at 11:00 am during a memorial service officiated by Dr. Stephen Leatherwood.
