AUGUST 20, 1939 – JANUARY 3, 2021

Violet Rae (Rose) Andrew was born on August 20, 1939 in Vona, Colorado to Theodore L. Rose and Amy Snyder Rose.

Her mother died when Violet was quite young, and their father raised Vi and her 2 older sisters, Beverly (McGruder) and Grace (Price), and younger sister, Marilyn (Myers), on his own in Eastern Colorado. She graduated from Raymer High School in 1957.

On November 15, 1969 she married Donald “Lynn” Andrew at the First Christian Church in Englewood Colorado, and they moved back to Hygiene and the Andrew family farm in 1976. She worked at various jobs over the years including data entry and in-home daycare, but her longest and most rewarding job was being the extra hands and eyes of her husband, Lynn, who dealt with physical challenges. As a team, they volunteered in their church, homeless shelters, and as drivers for people with disabilities and the elderly. With Violet at the wheel, she and Lynn enjoyed traveling around the state to square dance events, camping and visiting friends and family. Everything they did, they did together. In recent years when Violet’s health limited her from taking care of Lynn and herself, they moved in to the Lifecare Center of Longmont as a couple.

After declining health made her susceptible to the COVID virus and pneumonia, Violet left this earth and went to a joyful family reunion in heaven on January 3, 2021 at the age of 81. Violet is survived by her husband of 51 years, his brothers Leroy (Vicky) and Delwin and their families, and nieces and nephews: Beverly’s children Carrie Hessel, Connie Ross, Hope Tomlinson and Glenda Lehman; and Marilyn’s children Larinda Johnson, Christine Holiman, Lonny Myers and Wesley Myers. Her immediate family, parents and sisters, have all predeceased Violet. For the past several years Lynn and Vi have attended the Longmont Church of the Nazarene where they loved and were loved by their church family.

A memorial service is planned for Violet at a later date when friends and family can gather.
