I now live in a town where No Frills and Foodland are our only options, lest you want to drive 40 minutes to Food Basics. No Frills sales can be great but everything else is rather expensive so I choose to only shop for what's on sale there. It is Loblaw's after all.

Louise, you, Linda, Joanne and I were a great, fun "library basement" bunch! The laughs were endless! It's amazing we got any work done. My deepest condolences to Peter and Leslie and all the grandboys. You were an exceptional force of life, always quick with the quips and a font of knowledge. I still quote you and say, "Louise told me that". Say hello to Sylvia for me.

I applied for my SIN card in the 70s while unmarried. I only changed it to my married name 40 some years later just before retirement. The surname on a SIN card does not change unless you contact Service Canada to do so. It is not automatic.

These cheques were not DD, only mailed.
A woman who assumes her husband's last name upon marriage is not a legal name change. You are always "entitled" to your birth surname and can switch back at any time even if still married.
Your SIN card is issued to the surname of when you applied for it. You can change it later on. HOWEVER, your birth certificate will always have your surname of birth. Unless you actually go through with a LEGAL name change, your birth certificate will never change.
