Elevation Credit Union Foundation awarded 32 Colorado high school graduates with scholarships this year, totaling $76,000.
Holding the first in-person ceremony since the onset of the pandemic, Elevations Credit Union Foundation recognized the efforts high school graduates had to face in their final years of school.
“This year’s scholars embodied true resiliency as they navigated academics during the COVID-19 pandemic,” the foundation said in a news release.
Career goals were among several criteria considered for the scholarships, which ranged from $500 to $5,000. Among the 32 recipients, many shared a heavy interest in environmental sciences and engineering, the news release states.
“Every year we are so proud to recognize and celebrate the exceptional scholars that are looking to further their education,” said Dennis Paul, Board Chair of Elevations Foundation. “To play a part in making a difference in their future is a special feeling, and this is what our foundation is all about.”
