I just landed from the last trip for quite a while... boy are my arms tired. (That's not how that goes...)
The unusual cold gets fully replaced by unusual warmth today as a big ridge moves in to the western states (Figure 1). There is a small rain chance at the end of this upcoming weekend - but it looks too warm for snow. The (now 8 day out) storm still looks big and juicy, if not really cold right at the start. The lunar eclipse (that you could come to the Cherrywood Observatory if you wish - I'll include eclipse times, an eclipse forecast and contact info for me in a discussion soon) may be in good shape with this storm clearing out on Saturday (the eclipse is Sunday night).
