Do your pART is a new art series where the Longmont Leader will feature the work of local artists.

The first piece in the series is a pastel painting of Crater Lake Sentinel by Neva Hall.

Hall primarily works within the soft pastels of nature, which is what inspires most of her work.

"I interpret nature through my art so I can share the joy of both art and nature with others," Hall said.

For this painting, Hall was inspired by the Crater Lake Sentinel after spending a week in Utah nature bathing — which includes taking in the "energy and clean air of nature, according to National Geographic.

"We drove the rim of the crater and the color of this cliff was so remarkable we had to stop and take it in. I took photos with the intension of painting it," Hall said.

The Do you pART Series is a new addition to the Longmont Leader. In this series, we will share a local artist's favorite work while sharing a little bit about them. Artists are asked for fill out a questionnaire and send digital photos or videos of their art to [email protected]. All art styles are accepted and will be published at the discretion of the editor.
