3 year old injured in drive-by shooting

The girl was last reported to be in stable condition.

On Wednesday around 8 p.m., the Longmont Police responded to a drive-by shooting in the 1400 block of South Collyer St. During the shooting, a 3-year-old girl was hit by an unidentified projectile.

A suspect in a dark-colored sedan fired several shots into a mobile home in the Countryside Village Mobile Park. 

During the shooting, the young girl was hit with an unidentified projectile, according to the Longmont Police. The girl suffered a life-threatening injury to her torso. 

Police officer were able to remove the girl from the home and began working on her injuries until the Longmont Fire Departement and American Medical Response teams arrived to take over. The girl was transported to a nearby hospital where she was rushed into surgery. As of publication, the girl is in stable condition, according to the Longmont Police.

The suspects fled the scene. However, the Longmont Police have launched an investigation to identify the shooters.
