On Tuesday afternoon, Longmont Police responded to an alert of a burglary-in-progress with a firearm near Mountain View Avenue and Baylor Drive.

According to information from Longmont Police Communications Manager Robin Ericson, four individuals burglarized a property and beat up a male resident. The four individuals left, returning later with an unspecified number of additional people, a second car and an AirSoft rifle to burglarize the property again.

A Longmont Police officer located a vehicle with four individuals not far from the location of the burglary, resulting in a high-risk traffic stop that closed off portions of Mountain View Avenue just west of Hover Road at approximately 3:30 p.m.

The officer found cocaine and an AirSoft rifle in the vehicle, leading to the arrest of three juvenile females and one adult man. One of the suspects was identified as a domestic violence victim of the man whose home was burglarized, Ericson said.

Longmont Police located and interviewed the individuals from the other vehicle but found no probable cause for arrest, Ericson explained.

All four individuals from the traffic stop were charged with burglary and felony menacing. One female was also charged with domestic violence. More charges may be pending, Ericson said.
