A grass fire detected Sunday night was stopped from spreading after a quick response by emergency services.
On Feb. 25 at approximately 8:20 p.m., a Boulder County sheriff’s deputy investigating a noise complaint located a wildland fire near the Meyers Gulch Trailhead, in the 7200-block of Flagstaff Road.
The fire was initially reported to be in an open grassy area and less than one acre in size. As the deputy assessed the fire and called for additional resources, the fire spread to a tree in the area, the Boulder County sheriff's office said in a news release.
Mountain View Fire Rescue, Boulder Rural Fire Protection, Boulder Fire-Rescue, Louisville Fire Protection District, and Lafayette Fire Department responded to the incident.
The responding agencies were able to quickly contain and extinguish the fire, preventing further spread and avoiding damage to any structures. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation.
