Longmont SWAT responds to barricaded man

The man had outstanding warrants for felony criminal mischief and for violating a protection order.

The Longmont Police responded to the 2300 block of Gay Street around 10:49 a.m. Monday because of a disturbance. 

The suspect barricaded himself inside the house when the police arrived, according to a post by the Longmont Police Department. 

The SWAT team was called in and located the man in the attic of the home. Police were able to resolve the situation and arrested the man around 6 p.m.

The man had outstanding warrants for felony criminal mischief and for violating a protection order. 

"It is always the goal to seek a peaceful resolution to these situations. We appreciate the patience of those who live in the immediate area," the police stated.
