A woman went to jail yesterday after another woman convinced her to violate her restraining order.

At approximately 6:20 p.m.,  Longmont Police received a call from a resident of the 4500 block of Redmond Drive who said they overheard a physical fight – as well as someone saying “please stop hitting me” – happening in another residence.

Upon their arrival on the scene, police heard yelling inside of the apartment. The woman who answered the door was crying and said she did not need police assistance, according to a Longmont police report.

She told officers she was alone in the apartment and then closed the door on them.

While still standing outside of the apartment, police heard more yelling between two separate voices, as well as a loud banging sound, the police report stated.

When officers knocked on the door a second time, it was opened to reveal the woman they’d talked to before, as well as another woman.

Although the two women said they’d been in a relationship for nearly two years, police learned that one of them had a restraining order against the other.

The woman with the restraining order against the other told police that she had begged the woman to come back to the house knowing that she was restrained. She said she knew that the woman was still upset with her for cheating. She also told officers, in a previous incident, she had lied to police and gotten the other woman wrongfully arrested, according to the details of this case.

During their argument, the woman with the restraining order filed against her expressed wanting space from the relationship but was met with the other woman’s refusal. She finally told the woman she was going to hurt herself if she did not get away from her, the police report said.

Because the woman was violating her restraining order by being at the other woman’s residence, she was placed under arrest and transported to Boulder County Jail.
