On Wednesday, a resident in the 1100 block of Lashley Street reported hearing four to five gunshots in the area. A witness later came forward to report that they had seen a gun pointed out of the sunroof of a white Chrysler 300. The person fired the weapon and drove southbound on Lashley Street. The witness said they were not able to see any part of the shooter's body.

Police officers determined that no shell casings were left behind at the scene and no video evidence of the incident could be found.

Police officers began searching the neighborhood and found a Chrysler 300 at the intersection of Lashley Street and Mountain View Avenue. The car turned north and sped up, according to the officer's report.

The officers pulled the car over and found a man and a woman in the car. The woman said the man was her brother and he had just picked her up and that she had no knowledge of the incident.

The man's story changed as police interviewed him, according to the police report. Police found 14 spent 9mm shell casings, five spent .22 caliber shell casings and a live 9 mm bullet in the car. A one dollar bill with what officers presumed to be cocaine residue on it, a glass smoking pipe, several empty Modelo beer bottles and Captain Jack rum mixer bottles were later discovered in the car.

Officers attempted to collect gun residue from the man's hands but he resisted. Officers later discovered he had a previous conviction of assault with a weapon. The man was arrested and transported to Boulder County Jail.

The handgun was not found in the car.
